September 16 - 28, 2007

After approximately 20 hours of travelling, we were on our last flight from Taiwan to Thailand. Here I am with tired eyes - and only about 5 hours of sleep!
Only about 5 more hours to fly!! Wahoo!
Then what appeared out my window?..........
Here is the room Kathy, Courtney and I shared, in the Abba House.
We passed these beautiful rice fields on our way to the Drug Rehab Center.
This is outside the building (of the drug rehab center) in which we sang and played games.

Eating the "mypet" (not spicy) lunch at the University! It was good, whatever it was!

I'm feeding the elephant a little Thai cucumber(?)
There were many billboards like this one of the King and Queen of Thailand all around the city. They really do love their King. He has been King for about 50 years?!(I think)
Here are pictures of the Buddhist Temple or as they call it a "Wat".
Notice Barb taking her shoes off before entering. Not only must you take your shoes off, but you must make sure that if you sit down inside that your feet are not facing Buddha. Sitting on your knees and feet (like you are kneeling) is the proper way to sit.
Various Statues
People were coming with roses, candles, and incense to kneel and pray (I'm guessing).
Then they would walk around the large gold monument with the roses between their hands.
We visited a Hmong Village up in the mountains, as well.

The market area

A beautiful garden!

Thank you to all of you who have supported me through this trip!
Don't worry, there are still more pictures to come!! Enjoy!
Love ya,
Mindy

What was it you were drinking in the picture where you're eating? It looks like a strawberry smoothie. :)
It's cute how Sydney's in the picture of the group.
That buddhist temple is something.
Love ya more (as my nephew Matty says :) )

Excellent post! The photos give a great sense of what you experienced. I can't believe you've done all that work on your slideshow and this blog since you've been back. Have you been sleeping? Now we want you to tell us how the experience effected you, what you learned, etc. (that's the juicy stuff). No pressure... :)
Ditto your "big sis"! :) The pics and comments are great and so representative of what you saw and did on the trip. Thanks for the time it takes to put all of this together. I want to hear the "juicy" stuff, too! Love, Moi
The drink was a chinese sweet, fruity, milky tea! I told you, I really never knew what I was consuming while I was there! If I liked it, I consumed it! I really liked that tea!!
